1. Respect the staff and your fellow members. If you're asked to stop something, please listen. If you have what you believe is a just reason to fail to listen, PM the admin and your reasons will be considered, though this does not mean you may go on doing what you want. Sorry. Sites don't run smoothly with chaos. 2. Activity is a necessity to keep the site running. If you must be gone for more than three days, post an away message. It's easy to do. Just go to the Members' Lounge and then the proper sub-board and tell us when you'll be back. Unexcused inactivity for a prolonged amount of time may result in deletion. Activity is defined by logging in and posting somewhere on the site, though the majority of your posting should be in character. 3. Signatures may be no larger than 500 by 200 pixels. Excessive scrolling, after all, is not fun for anyone. And believe me, if we have dial-up users on here, the site is already hard enough to load without huge images for them to load. Also, no nudity or offensive content may be present. 4. Advertising may only be done in the advertising board. Signatures are not the place for it,but you may put the link in the field in your mini-profile. Do not bug members via PM to join your site unless they ask for the link. 5. Character sheets must be posted and accepted before you may begin to role-play. Post them within a week or I'll begin to wonder if you're really going to role-play. 6. In character posts must be written in third person. They must be no shorter than 100 words in length, but more is encouraged. Proper grammar and spelling should be utilized whenever possible. Excessive errors make posts difficult to read. 7. Date stamp your posts. Example: July 4, 1875. Date stamping helps keep it clear what happened first when you go back to look at it months down the road. Takes the guess work out of things. If you want to include what day of the week, this site is a good tool. 8. Remember there are no televisions, microwaves, radios, refrigerators, etc. Don't mention them, please. Also, watch modern lingo. Your character shouldn't go around saying, "Yo, homie," "That's cool, man; that's cool," or "That's bad." 9. You may have as many characters as you wish. However, if an admin begins to notice you're not keeping your current characters active yet are creating a new character, acceptance of the new character may be delayed until you prove active with the others. 10. Powerplaying is not allowed. If you're controlling another person's character, that defeats the purpose of role-playing, and it annoys the other person severely. If you cannot figure out how to avoid it or you feel it's necessary to keep the thread moving, please PM the person and gain permission first. Godmoding isn't allowed either. Your character isn't all powerful. He has weaknesses, not only strengths. He may be killed or injured just as easily as anyone else. Please note, however, that killing off someone's character without his or an admin's permission is not permitted.
